It's soft, like a whisper. Not a spelling or pronounciation found much in the US, so would create a lifetime of spelling and pronounciation issues for a US born child.

I agree with you. I used to loathe it, but now I sort of like it (but would never use it). It's very pretty, but I do prefer Elisabeth.

I really like it. I think it is quirky in the right way, with the p there and all. It's very nice.

I adore it. I would likely use it as a mn to honor my late grandmother, Elsie.

Elsa, nn Elsie is one of my all time favorite names. Elspeth is not hard for me to love. The suprising "p" in there takes a little getting used to. But once you get over the initial "huh?" it does take root.

I love the name Elspeth! I also like Elsbeth but Elspeth is nicer. It would be a nice way of honoring an Elizabeth! :)
