[Opinions] Faris
WDYT? Is it unusable because of the movie, Ferris Bueller's Day Off? What are some good middle names?

for me, yes, it's unusable. It mainly makes me think of Ferris Wheels though and they freak me out!! I always think I'm going to fall out of them!! NOT a good association.

Technically, Faris and Ferris are two different names with two different pronunciations, but I know a Faris who pronounces his name just like Ferris. That being said, I lovelovelove the name Ferris, and I think it is totally usable. To me, Ferris Bueller's Day Off is a good association. The character is charming, clever, and cool. The movie is probably why I love the name as much as I do. I wouldn't worry about the movie association too much though. I doubt too many kids these days are going to know who Ferris Bueller is anyway! At least, my friends (ages 17-22) didn't know what on earth I was going on about.

Faris has a separate origin from Ferris. It's totally usable.

I actually have a great uncle (deceased) whose name was Pharris. I always liked the name. Unfortunately he was kind of a bastard, so I don't want to use it. If he was a nicer guy I think it would have been usable. I actually think Ferris Bueller helps it case a little. It gives an obscure name a masculine, cool reference.
