I love Sidonie and Sidony. They're gorgeous – not overly girlie but still feminine and classy.
I can see how someone might think they're an altered prn/spelling of Sidney, but it doesn't bother me, really.
I love Sidney on a boy too – it's handsome and charming. Sid is a great nickname for a boy. I hate seeing Sidney and Sydney on girls... it's just tragic. This is one “unisex” name that is strictly masculine in my opinion, same as Morgan.
