[Opinions] Japanese exchange students
Our family is hosting another student from Japan - this will be the third time we've done this. We always get a list of all the students that are coming, and I think they're interesting, so I like to post them. :) (Plus, Japanese names don't get talked about very often here!)The students are from an all-boys school, so naturally all the names I'm posting are male:Akira
Arata
Haruya
Hideto
Hiroaki
Junpei
Junya
Kazuki
Keisei
Koichiro
Makoto
Masahiro x 2
Masaki
Masashi
Naoaki
Nariaki
Rintaro
Ryo
Shinpei
Shu
Shun
Shunpei
Soh
Taichi
Takahiro
Takumi
Takuya
Tasuku
Tomoaki
Tomoki
Tomonari
Yamato
Yohei
Yosuke
Yuichiro
Yuki x 2

The reason Jpns. names haven't been talked about much here lately is because I was away from the board for a few months... may start posting some more soon. Akira, Kazuki and Makoto are my faves from the ones on your list.

Most of the names have more than one meaning depending on the kanji. This list is very pleasant for me.

Yay! I like:Akira
Arata
Haruya
Hiroaki
Kazuki
Keisei
Koichiro
Masahiro
Masaki
Naoaki
Rintaro (one of my classmates had a host brother named this)
Ryo
Taichi (my teacher's son is named Taishi-- probably with the same kanji)
Takahiro
Yamato
Yuichiro
Yuki (when I was in Japan we met a Yuuki, and it took forever for my classmates to realize it wasn't Yuki)I tend not to like the names that end in "-iaki", because it sounds too much like "-iyaki" and makes me think of food. :P
