I like Elsa. It is old fashioned & for reason makes me think of a milkmaid but it also sweet & light. Elsie feels very nicknamey to me but Elsa feels complete.

I love Elsa! It's so sweet and cozy. I would pair it with a longer middle name, preferably not ending in A.

It's a name I really want to like, but I keep seeing a lioness instead of a human!
There are some gorgeous combos suggested by previous posters, I must say!

Oh, baby. Elsie has been a top ten name of mine for ages. I once had four girl names picked out and Elsa (as a vehicle for Elsie) was one of them. I've wondered why Elsa isn't more popular (here) given the rise of "el-" names. Elsa is serene and elegant and musical. She's exactly what "less is more" is all about. Elsa the Lioness ("Born Free") is a great association.Elsa Charlotte was my stock combinaiton for years. But then the "s" and "sh" sounds so close together made me rethink it. How about:
Elsa Catherine / Cathleen / Catriona / Katrina
Elsa Violet
Elsa Mary / Marianne / Maren / Miriam
Elsa Lily
Elsa Bernadette
Elsa Fleur
Elsa Caroline / Carlotta / Carole
Elsa Bryony
Elsa Laurel
Elsa Jane / Johanna / Siobhan
Elsa Natalie
Elsa Chloe
Elsa Clothilde
Elsa Juniper

Whoa, Bear, awesome combos!I like Elsa quite a bit - to me, Elsa is such a simple, almost inconspicuous seeming name with tons of class and sass.Elsa Bryony
Elsa Chloe
Elsa Clothilde
Elsa Beatrix
Elsa Vivien
Elsa Margot - a French flapper. Love it ;-)
Elsa Blythe
Elsa Myfanwy - wow! Just wow. Gorgeous.
Seeing Bear's list, I don't really have any combos to add. Except maybe Elsa Cleo, Elsa Geraldine and Elsa Augusta (a combo that I stole from a celebrity baby, by the way. Does that make me a bad person? ;-) ).

Thanks. I'm glad you liked them.Any celebrity with a baby named Elsa Augusta deserves an award, just for that name. Elsa Geraldine is darling. And Elsa Cleo is pure fun. (She makes me think of Elsa Clementine -- how did I leave her off the list?)

I have always loved this name. It's pretty, sweet, yet not overly complicated and frilly.

I like it. I think it's a really sweet name. I would never use it myself (we have an adorable yellow lab called Elsa) but it makes me happy to hear the name on little girls (it was #7 here last year). I also know a very nice lady who is over eighty named Elsa.

Elsa CarolineI also like it as a nickname for Elspeth.
