Oroterra is a large, powerful Kingdom known mainly for it's fierce military successes and plentiful fields of golden wheat that keep the Kingdom prosperous. King Antonio's great-grandfather started out as a poor merchant, but with his supporters, through ruthless and scrupulous means took the throne by force. He is known throughout History for his merciless tactics and punishments and passed his aggressive ways down to his son. King Antonio's father was just as ruthless as his father and grandfather before him, and instilled those values in Antonio. Antonio is handsome, athletic, and ambitious. It seemed that he could have any girl in the Kingdom as his bride, but in an unlikely event, he fell in love with one of the beautiful young chambermaids. Elisabetta had been born to a stable boy and a chambermaid and had only known the life of a servant, unlike Antonio's life of privilege and training. He was attracted to her glossy brown curls and deep chocolate eyes, but once they took the time to get to know each other secretly, love blossomed. Despite how unlikely it seemed, Antonio promised her that they would be together in the end and true to his word, when it was time to choose a bride he rejected all of the eligible noble ladies and identified Elisabetta as the one he wanted to marry. His father was livid and absolutely forbade it, but Antonio threatened to abdicate the throne and run away if that was what it took to be with her. Not wanting his son's lifetime of training and instruction to go to waste, Antonio's father finally relented.
The two were wed in a small intimate ceremony, with only family present. Antonio was 19 and Elisabetta was 15. The populace of Oroterra was taken aback by Antonio's unlikely choice of a bride, but Elisabetta's graces and obvious kindness prevented the anticipated wave of collective anger from the citizens. Antonio took the first two years of their marriage to travel the world with his wife and treat her to the luxuries she had never experienced before. He provided her with the very best private tutors to supply her with the education she had never received as a girl. They were coronated in a lavish ceremony followed by an elaborate celebration. Antonio has decided to be ruthless and ambitious when it comes to military and political affairs as he was trained, but vows to be a fair ruler for his wife. Elisabetta is so proud of her husband for maintaining the traditional aggressive ways that had made Oroterra a prosperous nation and a world superpower, while staying true to himself and allowing some compassion to show through.
