[Opinions] Karma, Isolde, Theodore and Sean?
A slightly distant relative had a baby yesterday. I'm not particularly close to her and she lives abroad, and I guess she never mentioned it to me personally beforehand because I've spent so long abroad away from where she lives and where my family live and she's old enough not have been friendly with me as children, which still counts for something it seems. She's talking about visiting us soon, so maybe I'm misjudging her, but that's not the point.Anyway, she had a son: according to the family grapevine, Sean Charles "Charlie". He joins older sister Isolde Columbine and brother Theodore Gregory Fife, and older half-sister Karma Marie according to my mother and her birthday book. There might be a third one between Theodore and Sean, making him the forth child, but my mother couldn't read her own writing and reckons that it's 900% likely that the mysterious scribble was "Theo" or something.Sean and Charlie are family names. I'm a bit gutted about her using both. Individually, I love them both, but I think Sean Charles looks odd, but I guess it balances okay with their surname - I don't like using the middle name as a nickname, though. What do you think? Sean Charles or Charles Sean? Or do you think there are better combos out there? What do you think - Karma, Isolde, Theodore and Charles or Karma, Isolde, Theodore and Sean? I'm inclined towards the latter, but think that if you're going to use Charlie, why waste Sean? Use Charlie X and leave Sean for someone else to nab. I don't know her well enough to have any clue why they chose Theodore Gregory Fife with a random extra middle name. I think Isolde Columbine is pretty, loathe Karma and find Marie dull, and you know my feelings on Sean Charles. I dislike Gregory in this context and find it odd - unless it's a family name on the dad's side? Or maybe they just liked it. Theodore and Fife are too close sounding for my liking. But what do you think?

I think Sean Charles is fine but if they call him Charlie it makes more sense to have named him Charles Sean, even though it doesnt flow so well perhapsTheodore and Isolde are fantastic names, but I think Karma is dreadful!I actually quite like Theodore Gregory and, while I find the third middle name a bit pointless, I think Fife sounds quite good. It's a shame that she used two family names which you like but since you rarely see her and she lives far away then you could probably use at least one of them without it being a problem.

Nice names except for Karma. That's not a name.

I love Isolde Columbine & Theodore Gregory Fife. Sean Charles is nmsaa and Karma Marie is...well, flighty to me. Okay, it's beyond love for Isolde Columbine & Theodore Gregory Fife. It's poetry to my ears. They're unexpected, classy and quirky. Lots and lots of kudos to the parents!
