Entias and Lowista are a very young couple, but they love each other deeply. Lowista is the daughter of a peasant man whose mother left them when was offered a better place. Siemandy is fine with their engagement, as is Olbret, but Aedalia, who married a nobleman not much older than herself, is a little skeptical about it. She'd always wanted better for her favorite brother, considering he is to be the next ruler. Especially when she found out that Lowista is expecting the child of someone else. Lowista was raped by her step-brother about two months ago.
Aedalia and Jarvance are quite happy together.
