Antonia's marriage to the Duke of Sardinisia has brought extreme happiness to the Royal Family and all of Oroterra. Since her brother Niccolo will be inheriting the throne, Antonia was free to marry whoever she wished. She had fallen in love with a young Duke named Claudio after they met at a ball thrown by Antonio and Elisabetta. Antonia immediately said yes when Claudio proposed to her. Their wedding was lavish and expensive with a great number of guests. Antonio has given Claudio and Antonia their own estate and granted them titles as Duke and Duchess of Laziare. For the time being, Antonia and Claudio will remain at the palace as Antonio has employed Claudio to be in charge of the Royal Finances. Just before the wedding however, everyone was surprised at Elena's announcement of engagement to a young soldier she met on a foreign trip. Elena and Walter had kept correspondence by writing each other letters, but Walter finally proposed to her when he visited the palace with his military regiment. He and Elena have decided that when they are married they will remain in Oroterra as Walter has no living relatives.
The rest of the Royal children, while not as eventful, are just as happy as their older sisters. When he isn't learning military strategy and techniques at the military academy, Nico is attending meetings with his father and throwing himself full force into preparing to take over the throne. He has the ambitions and aggressiveness that the council looks for when deciding which child will inherit the throne and looks forward to the day when he will be King. Chiara has been enjoying her extravagant life as a Princess and flirting with the various suitors who have been visiting her, even though she has no intention of marrying so young. due to the fact that his brother is away from the Palace so often, Franco has been making other friends. His easygoing and fun loving nature make him a natural at winning people over, and he is very popular among the young men and ladies at the Palace. Marco has been begging his mother and father to let him attend the military academy like Nico, as he wants nothing more than to be a soldier and defend Oroterra. Antonio seems ready to let Marco attend, but Elisabetta is wary about her son going when he's still so young. Luca has become his mother's shadow, constantly following her around the Palace. He doesn't like it when she pays too much attention to others and doesn't like her spending too much time with people he doesn't know or trust. Elisabetta loves her son and loves spending time with him.
