The past year has been very exciting for Antonio and Elisabetta starting with the arranged betrothal of their oldest son Niccolo to the daughter of a very wealthy and prominent Duke. Elisabetta didn't want her son's marriage to be loveless, but it was customary in Oroterra for the heir of the throne to have a political marriage. Nico and Ella's engagement was full of planning for their elaborate and lavish wedding. Niccolo is very fond of his beautiful new fiancee, they were friends before they had been betrothed and were both elated that they had been engaged to each other instead of someone horrible. Right before the wedding, Elena announced that she and Walter were expecting another child. Elena was ecstatic to have another child with the love of her life.
The wedding was every bit as elaborate as the wedding of the future King and Queen of Oroterra should be. Niccolo celebrated with his family and new wife. Meanwhile, romance sparked between Franco and the daughter of a high ranking General in the Oroterra military whose family was staying at the palace for a while after the wedding. Franco and Priscilla immediately hit it off and shared a night of spontaneous passion, which led to a shocking announcement a month later, Priscilla was expecting a child. It was decided that in order to prevent a scandal, Franco and Priscilla would be married. A few months after that, Elena and Walter welcomed their second son. They named him Maximillian, Edmund after one of his father's middle names, Vincent after one of Niccolo's middle names, and Nikolaus after Niccolo. Amid this, Chiara announced her own engagement to one of Niccolo's friends. At first, Niccolo didn't approve of the match, as he knew that Fredo enjoyed to have a good time and was doubtful that he would remain faithful to Chiara, but after seeing how happy the two were, finally approved. A few weeks before Chiara and Fredo's wedding, Franco and Priscilla welcomed their daughter. They named her Carissa which means "beloved", Elisabetta after Franco's mother, Antonia after Franco's father and sister, and Maria after Priscilla's mother.
