Help[Opinions] Phoebe
I've always loved Phoebe (since being a charmed addict as a teen), but it's becoming so popular, at least here in the UK, although saying that I only know 1 Phoebe, but there are always children named Phoebe in my local newspaper. How many Phoebe's do you know?
Anyway popularity aside, and the fact that I havent yet convinced by boyfriend of the name, What are your opinions of the name Phoebe?

Wow, it's at #28 here and I haven't come across any little Phoebes at all. I like it - probably wouldn't use it, but it's a nice name.

I've never met a Phoebe, but I don't know that many young children/babies. I wouldn't have guessed it was so popular here! It's a distinctive name and even if there are other Phoebes around it stands out from the Ellies/Evies etc. If you love it I wouldn't let popularity rule it out. Maybe you could use a more unusual middle name to go by if there's other Phoebes in her class or whatever?
I don't really like Phoebe, it's always sounded strange to me - "feebee", like something a baby would say. It also reminds me of the ending -phobe. But I don't dislike it especially, it just doesn't work for me.

I love it, too. It also has a lovely meaning. I know three, but one lives in Britain and two in the US (the one in Britain is 10, the ones in the US are 11 and over 40).
I also know a dog named Phoebie. It's not the spelling I prefer, but it's pretty as well.
I think it's extremely common in Britain according to the charts so I might not use it if I lived there. There's always Belphoebe. You could call her Phoebe and if there's another one she could go by Belphoebe or maybe Belle or Bella.

I love it and would consider using it in the future, but DH doesn't like it enough. I don't know anyone named Phoebe.

I know of two women named Phoebe. One is in her seventies and the other in her late twenties. I don't know of any little girls with this name in our community.
I like the name, but prefer other bird names such as Wren, Lark, Robin, and Kestrel. But it's so, so much better than half of the BA's in the local paper!

Wow I didn't realise how popular Phoebe was getting - I've never met one!
I like the sound of Phoebe, but I do think it looks a little strange written down. I prefer it as a middle name and actually it goes really well with lots of different first names, so maybe you could try experimenting with that?
