How does everyone feel about Lois? I know it's often relegated to middle-aged housewives in the media (Lois Griffin from "Family Guy," Malcolm's mother in "Malcolm in the Middle," Ginger's mother in "As Told by Ginger") (not that middle-aged housewives are a bad thing!), but I think of an elegant, milk-skinned beauty who wears her chestnut hair down and swept over one shoulder. Strange image, I know.

I actually don't hate Lois. This is strange since I do hate most of the names I would group it with (Doris, Ethel, Edith, etc). I feel she would have a fun, sassy almost irreverent personality.

I really like Lois. It has a lovely violet-flower image for me. Also Lois Lane helps give it some geek chic. It may have a housewife vibe, but I honestly think it has great hipster appeal as they seem to like those kinds of things (Betty, June, Lois, all good crunchy hipster faves), and would be delighted to meet a tiny Lois.

I love Lois, and I absolutely think it deserves more love. My primary association is still Lois Lane, so for me the name has an aura of adventure, intelligence, and a kind of sharp-tongued, spunky beauty. I also like Lois as a quirky nn for Eloise/Eloisa.

From your list, I like Lois Camilla, Lois Catherine, Lois Emily, Lois Julia, Lois Rebecca, and Lois Viviane.

I love Lois. I know a few younger people called Lois, aged 20ish. I also like it as a nickname for Eloise or Eloisia

It often gives me the giggles, though I don't dislike it.
My first thought is always of Lois Lane. Intelligent, ambitious, glamorous and won't take rubbish from anybody.
