Queen: Queen Emeline Isabelle Mélisande Rose of Verbena, Queen of Rossinest (17) "Her Royal Highness Queen Emeline"
From the Royal House of: Verbena
In the Kingdom of: Rossinest
King Aldric and Queen Morgane had a great love story. Morgane's mother tutored the royal children and so Morgane was blessed enough to acquaint herself with them at a young age. Aldric was youngest, and at only a year older than Morgane herself became her closest friend. Aldric's elder siblings took their roles as his future advisers seriously and advised him to end the relationship with the peasant girl, seeing the young love blossom, but Aldric did not care - Morgane meant too much to him. Their love surely did grow and over time the whole of Rossinest learnt of it, and fell in love with Morgane the peasant girl whom they all knew would one day be Queen.
Aldric was coronated just shy of his 23rd birthday in a lavish ceremony attended by all 8 of his elder siblings who proudly took their places as his advisers. The day after Aldric's coronation, a second celebration took place, the wedding of Aldric and Morgane. All was well in Rossinest until the war king of the neighbouring kingdom decided that he wanted Rossinest's lands for his own. A great war began between Rossinest and neighbouring Delacroix, ruled by the fearsome King Francois.
Though at war, Aldric and Morgane tried to live on and look after the people of Rossinest the best they could. The welcomed 7 strong sons over the years and then finally a single daughter. Little Emeline was beloved by all as the youngest daughter of Rossinest with her 7 brothers and their families to look after, guide and protect her. Emeline was only 3 however when assassains sent by King Francois came to kill her whole family. They sneak into the bedchambers of the King and Queen, all 7 princes along with their wives and children, and finally the tiny princess and poured poison into the drinking water so that when they all rose and drank at the start of a new day, they would all die... The Queen however rose early that morn and drank long before the rest of the palace awoke. She died, but her death warned the others and no one else fell victim to the poison.
King Aldric was devastated at the death of his beautiful Morgane and sent his eldest two sons, Prince's Ulrich & Vincent, to Delacroix to make a truce with King Francois, at any cost. The deal was made, with Queen Morgane dead, Princess Emeline officially became the heir apparent of Rossinest so in exchange for peace her hand was promised to the second son of King Francois, Prince Jacques-Léon. At the time of this treaty Jacques-Léon was 8 years old and was already gaining a reputation as a fine horseman, swordsman, but much kinder and more compassionate than his father. All in all, Jacques-Léon was a fine lad so King Aldric agreed, and King Francois was proud in the knowledge that one day he would now have sons upon the thrones of both Delacroix, and now Rossinest.
Emeline grew to be a great beauty and was fiercly protected by her father and brothers. Being raised without a mother, Emeline wasn't considered to be demure as most ladies were, despite the best efforts of her sister-in-laws. Rather, Emeline spoke her mind like a man would, and had a temper and wit almost as great as her beauty. She was raised knowing that upon her fathers death, she would be Queen and would rule Rossinest with her brothers at her side. She also knew that when that happened she would marry Prince Jacques-Léon, whom she had never met, but did not like as she blamed his family for her mothers death, much to the amusement of her brothers who often laughed that they felt truly sorry for Prince Jacques-Léon.
King Aldric finally died not long before Emeline's 17th birthday, and a grand celebration was planned in Rossinest to combine her birthday celebrations with her coronation, and her wedding. The first two events went as planned and Emeline was proud and honoured to become Queen. The first time Emeline and Jacques-Léon ever laid eyes on each other was at the alter on their wedding. It did not matter that they had not met, nor that they did not know (or like Emeline's case) each other, their marriage was the culmination of a 14 year old agreement. Emeline wasn't sure what she'd expected of the Prince she was to marry, but she knew it wasn't what she was presented with as she'd built him up to be some kind of monster in her head, but she actually found Jacques-Léon to be very handsome, and surprisingly pleasant.
Newly married, Emeline and Jacques-Léon are just now getting to know each other, and as much as Emeline wishes to despise him and all of his family, she's hopelessly attracted to him and really can't help but want to be near him (much to her frustration!)
