Cowleen? J/K!I kinda like Davros for a boy, the Armenian form of "taurus." Of course, if you're a Doctor Who fan that wouldn't work. Also, not great for a girl. How about Maybull ? I've actually seen that spelling...

I was thinking Mabel felt like a appropriate Taurean name.

Here are a few names for Taurus girls according to Nancy Burke's Hey, Baby, What's Your Sign? (Philip Lief Group, Inc., 1999). The legitimacy of the names and their meanings is suspect, but it could be worth looking for if you want a book that tries to make astrological connections for names...or you need a laugh. Adamina: A "red earth" meaning for the first Earth sign.
Alexandra: "protector of humankind" Taureans love security and protect their loved ones.
Belinda: "beautiful" (meaning is actually unclear) Taurus is ruled by Venus which also governs beauty.
Bryn: "mountain-like" (really, hill or mound) "Suggests the formidable strength possessed by all Taureans" (pg 63).
Diantha: "divine flower" Flower names are big for all the springtime signs.
Jolie: The beauty thing again.
Leigh: "From the pasture" (field) "Taureans, born under one of the zodiac's three Earth signs, feel a special connection to vast fields" (pg 70).
Lucretia: "rewarded with wealth" (profit, wealth) Taureans willingness to work hard can lead to financial reward.
Noriko: "law and order" (law/rule child) Taureans just naturally love rules and following the law, apparently.
Phyllis: "green branch" (foliage) Again, spring.
Valerie: "strong" "Taureans are renowned for their remarkable emotional and physical resilience and fortitude" (pg 77).Basically, if you look up names by meaning and focus on nature, beauty, luxury/wealth, hard work/determination, strength, cows & oxen, spring, April, and May, you can pull together a list that has a lot of Taurean qualities.

Venus: Taurus's rulling planet.
Maia, Alcyone, Merope, or Electra: stars of the constellation Taurus (Maia is also the goddess of spring)
Mauve: Taurus's colour.

This is what my book says about Taurus:It is a Fixed Earth sign. So that would make them very stuborn and probably stick to their beliefs. It would also make them hard working and determined. Fixed signs like stability, and Earth signs like stability as well so they need to feel secure in their life finacially and in other ways more than any other sign.Their body area is the throat and neck and the thyroid gland.Flowers: Rose, Poppy, Foxglove, Daisy, Primula, Violet, Columbine. These are example flowers. I don't agree with Poppy being up there since they are way more associated with sun and summer. But that's what this books opinion is.Trees: Ash, Cypress, Vine Maple, Apple, Crab Apple, Pear, FigHerbs and Spices: Cloves, Sorrel, Spearmint, most spices. I guess Taurus people are spice people?! :pFoodstuffs: Wheat and other cereals, berry fruits, apples, pears, grapes, artichokes, asparagus, beansAnimals: CattleMetals: CopperCell Salts: Nat.Sulph., Calc.Sulph.Gemstone: EmeraldColors: pink, pale blue and green, pastel shadesCountries: Ireland, Switzerland, Iran, Cyprus, the Greek Islands, the Italian Islands of Capri and IschiaCities: Dublin, Waterford (Ireland I think), Lucerne, Leipzig, Palermo, Parma, St. Louis

You're welcome. I got this astrology book in middle school. It was a birthday gift from a friend. I every so often bring it out again and page through it. I still don't understand how to do advanced full horoscopes for people.I've never considered before now what names would suit a certain sign. I use to try and figure out when I wanted to have my future childred, based off of what sign I wanted them to have. But these days I've decided that is a silly thing to do. Since I'm uncertain if I even believe in astrology or not. Instead I'll probably base it off when I feel would be the most awesome, fun time of the year to have a birthday. Some people have birthdays at a time of year when the weather is terrible or when school is out so not many kids will be able to go to their party. I've decided to try and have my future children during a good birthday party month. I'm certain that sounds a little crazy but I love planning things.

Io and Europa are moons of Jupiter. Taurus is ruled by Venus and Venus has no moons. But Io and Europa would be cool names for a Sagittarius. :)

Ah that makes sense. I wasn't thinking about that. I'm in a star gazing mood since I'm about to go on a star party and have been looking up a lot of celestial bodies that I want to look at while there. My mind wasn't thinking much about mythology.

Anything any other girl could be named. I don't see why what time of year you're born should affect what your name should be.

May?

Or April... (m) *Edited*April or May / Mae sounds about right. I'm considering using Maeve as an honoring name for May. So names similar to April or May. But other than that I guess something that feels down to earth, something sturdy and reliable, but sounds like the name of someone who loves material possessions and has a strong sense of ownership. So Cordelia would be what comes to mind for me more than any other name. Also Penelope and Millicent. Possibly Dorothy or Drusilla or Priscilla. Though Priscilla makes me think of Virgo since it reminds me of the word prissy. Or a Spring flower name like Viola or Pansy or Primrose. Or Tulip or Daffodil or Lily. Or Iris or Lilac or Daisy. Or Magnolia or Blossom or Hyacinth. Or Crocus or Buttercup or Clover. Or you could do April or May birthstones, the most commonly acknowledged ones being Diamond or Emerald. Names that capture the mood of Spring, like the name Joy or Grace or Serena. Taurus is ruled by Venus so Aphrodite or Venus would also work.
