[Opinions] Ada
I'm really falling for Ada , maybe as a nickname for Aleydis because I don't to prefer longer names, but anyway Ada seems really sweet yet strong. Though it is very similar to Ava which i really dislike. What do you think of Ada?

It's a sweet name. I agree that it has a strength about it too, though. I think it's fine on its own, but my favorite longer names are Adara, Adeline, Adelina, and Adamina.

I love Ada. It's sweet and simple. I have been seeing more mentions of it lately, so I think it's an up-and-comer, mainly because it works as an alternative for Ava.

I love Ada. It's simple and sweet. I like it as a full name, but it's also a cute nickname for Adelaide.

I think Ada's wonderful. So much punch packed into one little name!

I think Ada is very cute and much better than Ava. My alternative for Ava is Eva.I don't like Aleydis, as I don't really feel that Ada works perfectly as a nickname for it. I like Adela, Adelina or just Ada on it's own.

I used to really like it. It is very sweet and light and simple. I don't dislike it, but it's a little too airy/weak for me now.

I like Ada as a nickname but love Adah as a full name.

I also like Ada and dislike Ava. Ada is warm, down-to-earth, and affable while Ava has always seemed kind of uppity to me. AY-duh seems to be the most common pronunciation, but I always want to say it AH-duh when I see it. Apparently this is legitimate in some places (Poland). I like either pronunciation.

Aleydis is beautiful. Ada is a good nickname for it. Ada is kind of flat to me but still a good name. Seems very innocent and sweet.

I really like it too. I actually kind of like the sound of Ava as well but it's WAY too popular for me. I've heard people say it sounds like the name of an old woman, but I disagree. I know it's an older name but I don't think it's dated or anything like others seem to think. It's pretty, simple, and like you said- strong.

I love Ada. It's so sweet and nostalgic. Very charming. It can stand on its own, but makes a nice nn for Aleydis too. I once used Ada as a mn suggestion and someone pointed out that it made the whole combination sound like, "fn ate a surname." I had to agree. So Ada is out as a mn. But as a fn it doesn't have that problem, as long as the surname isn't a funny sounding noun. I wouldn't want to go through life as "Ada Peach." :-P

I can't stand Ava either, but I love Ada. It seems more friendly and calm, and much less trendy, and there's a nice range of names it could be short for if you wanted it to. Aleydis is very fancy, and would make a fantastically original full name!
