About a month after advisors tried introducing the King to acceptable brides, Dorian met Emmanuelle a duchess in Kyrn. Beautiful Emme entranced him, and her family was a noteable one from a country Valhurst wanted on its side. But Emme was promised to a soldier of another land, and, therefore, unavailable.
After a month spending time together, Emme found out that her betrothed died in a training accident. Dorian comforted Emme, who was also attracted to Dorian, also. They decided to marry, and a month later, sealed the deal. Two weeks after, Emme announced that she was pregnant with the couple's first child: a bouncing baby girl the family named Lucia -- giving her a name meaning "light" as she was the light through the darkness in Dorian's life.
Vincent, having been extremely attached to Angel, cannot accept that his father is now married to someone only 10 years older than he is. But Dorian believes that Emme opened him up to the youthful exuberance he embraced before marrying Angel. And he's extremely happy that he has a truly loving relationship with someone, seeing as his first marriage had a really rough start.
