[Opinions] Tabitha and Xavier
I love these names, but, I like to have names that are easily shortened. Can you think of any nick names? I know Tabie is obvious, but I am not sure how I feel about it. What are your thoughts?

How about just Tab? Or T? Xavier - Xave, X

For Tabitha - Titha? (tee-thuh was the pronunciation I was thinking of.) It's a little odd, but I figured I'd throw it out there. Talitha has slightly different nn options if you like it just as much. :)I agree with humblebee about using them, though.

Tabitha can be Tabs, Tab, Taba (my late best friend used Taba), Bit, Bitsy, Tib, Tibs, Tibby. My favorites are Tib/Tibs/Tibby. Xavier could be Xavi, Xave/Zave, or just X. X is a great, rare initial. Like Q, I really enjoy it as a nickname. If you're nickname people then, even for names that don't have obvious nicknames, a nickname will evolve over time. Tabitha and Xavier are both great with Lennon. I say don't let the nickname thing hold you back.

Thanks, This was really helpful. Do you think Bitta works?

Sounds and looks too close to Britta, I think.

I love Xavier, it's my nephews name. He goes by Xavi, which sound good in Spanish, but I'm not sure in English.Tabie is cute, all I can think of is abie?:)

I can't think of another nickname for Tabitha besides Tabby/Tabi/Tabie, which I really dislike. Xavier - it sort of depends how you pronounce it. I say the first part "zav" (rhyming with "have"), which could be shortened to Xav or Xavi (zav-ee). However if you pronounce it "zay" (rhyming with "day") that doesn't really work. But it's a short name anyway and I don't feel like it needs to be shortened.

Well, are you saying tah-BEE-tha or TAB-ith-ah ? If it's the first you can use Bee or Bea.
Xavier could be X or Zay.

Tabitha can be shortened to Tibby.

I really like both, but I agree that nicknames are an issue.Tabitha: Tab/Tabs, Beth (it's a stretch), AbbyXavier: Zay, even though the spelling doesn't make sense the sound works.

Honestly, I think both names are short enough. I think Tabitha is stunning, and if I had a girl named Tabitha, I would just call her Tabitha. Tabby/ Tabie is not very flattering. Hmmm - Bibi? Tha? Thea? I've never liked Xavier - Xavie is the only nn I could think of.

Xavier can be Xave (know this 'cause that's what my best friend's bro. Zavier is often called). Guess Tabitha could just be Tab, but I never really think of shortening Tabitha.

or...I guess you could nickname her Tha... just for fun... might stick... If I were a Tabitha and HAD to go by a nn, I think that would be my preference of the possibilities... w/ people generally addressing me by my full name, but some of my friends and fam calling me Tha just for fun.
