What do you think of the name Tempest for a girl?and would it fit in with a hypothetical sibset of Patience, Aleydis, Freya and Arthur?TIA

I like it, but I think it works best as a middle name. However, I do think it would fit into that sibset.

I don't like it at all. I don't think a Tempest is a good thing to be named after, for a start, and it doesn't sound like a name to me it just sounds like a word. Even if it was a name, I think it sounds more masculine than feminine. I think Temperance is a more feminine and more name-sounding name, although I still don't like it. Patience and Temperance would go together, but I don't think the other names go with Tempest, Patience or Temperance.

Oh dear me! Tempest? It sounds really cool, but that's quite the name to saddle a person with, isn't it? I most definitely wouldn't put it in a sibset with Patience. And, from that list, I don't think it really fits with Arthur either. I kind of like the turmoil it evokes. I'd be tempted to make a sibset something like Tempest, Wilder, Storm, Blaze, Thor, and Fiametta. Ooo, I like that.

I do like the name Tempest, though it makes me think of the girl (I think her name was Tempest Smith, and I'm pretty sure she was from Florida) who killed herself after being bullied by her class for dressing goth and being into a Pagan religion. With Patience, I do not think Tempest would fit in-makes one sound like the "good" sister, and the other like the "bad" sister. She seems to fit in with with Aleydis and Freya, but with Arthur ( a nice, solid, old-fashioned choice), it sounds a little far out there.

You are right. I look up Tempest Smith, and she was a 12 year old goth into Wiccan. She hanged herself because a bunch of little snot nose brats kept bullying her. :/

I don't like Tempest. Tempests aren't good things, and I can't help but think of the phrase "tempest in a teapot"--a big deal made out of whole lot of nothing. I don't think it fits in with the rest of the sibset. Tempest and Patience are especially awful as sisters; one sounds like the "good" sister, while the other one...

I want to like it, but it only makes me think of Tempest Bledsoe. (Oh, I guess she spells it Tempestt.) And I don't know, it's just a bit too wordy for me, and it's not a pleasant word/image. Not particularly negative, either, but tempests just don't appeal to me. I do like the sound though. I love Temple and I like Temperance.I think Tempest would fit in just right with that sibset.

It's a name I've loved for a while and everyone says, no way. I wouldn't use it with Patience, it's just asking for comparison between the siblings' personalities and their names. I think it goes well with Aleydis and Freya, but not Arthur which seems a bit staid next to it.
