My swimming coach was named Kirk. He was Australian so that's who I picture when I hear the name, but hey, an extremely tall, tanned, muscle-y Aussie isn't a bad association for me. ;)
....Kirk is also what my Granny calls churches. She goes to 'the Kirk' on a Sunday.

Wow... I've never seen a couch swim... and an imported one from Aus. at that... how fascinating... jk... am sure you meant coach... and that's not a bad association at all.
