It's okay, though I do prefer Caroline. Carolina nn Lena doesn't thrill me because I pronounce Lena as LEH-na. Carolina nn Lina (LEE-na) makes more sense to me.
I'd be happier meeting a Charlotte nn Lottie. If you like Carolina and Charlotte, have you ever looked at Carlotta? I'd be thrilled to meet a Carlotta nn Lotta or Lottie.
