[Opinions] Rosalie
Is it too twilight? I want to like it more than I really do. I guess it seems trendy... but not, I don't know I'm trying to make myself come around to it. What sort of impression does Rosalie give you? Any stellar combo ideas that will make me a believer?

I like it, and it's my favourite Rose- name after just Rose on it's own. If I used Rosalie, I think Rose would be a nickname.
I like that it can be quite cute for a child because of the "ie" ending, but it's not too childish or cutesey like nickname-names (Millie, Katie, Holly etc.)
I don't really think it's trendy, as it's not popular at all. I also don't really care about the Twilight association anymore - she's not really a major character. Some of my top names are Alice and Jasper, so I wouldn't use both of those or one with Rosalie as well but I think just one is fine.

I do automatically think of Twilight, but in a few years time I imagine that will have subsided.
It's a pretty name, a lovely variation of Rose.

Screams out Twilight almost as bad as Renesmee. But then I hate Twilight. Feels like what happens when Natalie and Rose are mergered into each other.

I'm of the very decided opinion that no name is "too Twilight" except for Renesmee!
Rosalie is a beautiful, classy, traditional name that sounds fabulous on a baby/girl/woman of any age. (I have a wonderful great aunt with the name.)
Some of my favorite combos with it...
Rosalie Adele
Rosalie Amabel
Rosalie Catherine
Rosalie Delphine
Rosalie Helene
Rosalie June
Rosalie Maeve
Rosalie Maren
Rosalie Maret
Rosalie Margaret
Rosalie Mathilde
Rosalie Maxine
Rosalie Tamsin
Rosalie Victoire
Rosalie Victoria
Rosalie Winifred
As a middle name...
Ada Rosalie
Alice Rosalie*
Anna Rosalie
Anne Rosalie
Catherine Rosalie
Charlotte Rosalie
Emma Rosalie
Lotta Rosalie
Lydia Rosalie
Octavia Rosalie
Una Rosalie
*I expect this is a bit "Twilight heavy" for most, but I love the combo because my grandmother's name is Alice. (She and my great aunt Rosalie are sisters. They're the two youngest of eleven.)

Not a major Alice fan (kind of neutral on it), but Alice Rosalie flows quite nicely.
That might be a bit too Twilight though, since there is a character called Alice as well. I would use one Twilight name in a sibset, but not more.
I refuse to watch twilight... and would like to forget the movie even exists. I liked the name before the movie even existed.
The 2 women I've known w/ the name have had a bit of spunk and chutzpah to their personalities and are fun people.
I like the combo Motoka Rosalie, but since you may not be into Jpns. names...
Janina Rosalie
If I didn't dislike Matilda so much, I'd suggest Rosalie Matilda since it flows ok.
Rosalie Dawn
... put them on whichever side of Rosalie you prefer:
Jocelyn
Jolene
Charleen
Miela
Carmen
Carmel
Esther
Hadassah
Shoshannah
Jessica
Noelle
Kathleen
Sabrina
Antonia
Jacinta
Estelle
Charmaine
Could come up w/ more, but don't have much time right now.

I don't think it's too Twilight, but I had heard of the name well before the books and movies came out. It's not like it was coined by Stephenie Meyer, so I think it would be just fine for a non-Twilight fan to use.
It's a sweet name, but not sticky sweet. I find it quite pretty, and I like Rose as a nickname for it.
I can see how you might find it a bit trendy sounding as it's similar to popular, old-fashioned names like Emily. It goes along with the Turn of the Century names trend.
Combos:
Rosalie Claire
Rosalie Clara
Rosalie Corinne
Rosalie Gemma
Rosalie Helen
Rosalie Helena
Rosalie Georgia
Rosalie June
Rosalie Caroline
Rosalie Diana

Rosalie Veronica
Rosalie Bernadette

Rosalie Camille
Rosalie Phaedra
Rosalie Greta
Rosalie Petra
Rosalie Beth

Rosalie Katrina / Catrina / Catriona
Rosalie Calpurnia

Rosalie is one of my favorite Rose names, along with Rosemary and Rosalind. I think Rosalie sounds the youngest of those three- it has a very youthful vibe to me. I can understand why you think it seems trendy, because the -lie ending is verging on cutesy. I don't think it's too Twilight- Reneesme or however you spell it is too Twilight. Rosalie was a well established name before it was used in those books.
I'm not trying to force it. I just LOVE both Rose and Rosa so I really WANT to like Rosalie. I have this ill-formed idea that it's rather trendy and "too sweet" so I'm just trying to get a feel for how others view it so I can approach it with a fresh start.
Rosalie Maeve is charming. Rosalie Corinne is great too :)

It's the name of a pig in the English kids' stories featuring Rupert Bear, although I don't think she appears that often!
It's very pretty but I prefer Rosalind.

Truthfully, it reminds me of a really sour girl I knew in junior high and high school. And Twilight. So not the greatest associations, sorry. :(
NOOOO. Sorry, it just irks me that a lot of people know Rosalie from Twilight because 1. It's one of my favorite great-aunts' name, and 2. I've never read/seen Twilight and it looks like drivel to me. So I would really hope that it doesn't have a Twilight association, but I guess I can't say I know that for sure.
I do agree, unfortunately, that it's trendy right now. Becuase it's a sweet, cute, old-fashioned name. Like Evelyn and Eloise. Alas. It's such a fresh, upbeat name. I want to be her friend.
My favorite combos with it:
Rosalie Sunshine
Rosalie Jillian
Rosalie Myfanwy
