[Opinions] Maeve
WDYT of Maeve? Met a girl named Maeve the other day, she was in her twenties and pronounced it MEEV. Favourite Maeve combos?

I think Maeve is lovely but pronounced MAYV. MEEV makes me think of "skeevy". I would be worried about pronounciation issues if I ever used it but using it as a middle name would solve that.

I like it, but I pronounce it MAYV rather than MEEV. I would probably use Evie as a nickname, just because I use any excuse to use Eve or Evie, I love it!I find that Maeve goes well in the middle name spot - it's more interesting than May but still easy to pair. As a first name, I would put it with a more complex middle name. Here are some ideas:Maeve Juliana
Maeve Cassiopeia
Maeve Leilani
Maeve Ramona
Maeve Caitriona
Maeve Henrietta
Maeve Hermione
Maeve Wilhelmina
Maeve Josefina
Maeve Lilibet

"Meev?" That ruins it. It's the "mayv" sound that is so pleasing to my ears. Do I now have to worry about yet another favorite being mangled by the general public? I swear, sometimes I think names should be left to the professionals here at BtN. My cousin has a dd Maeve Rosaleen. Maeve Elizabeth and Maeve Anais (French "ah-nah-EES" pronunciation) are my stock combinations.

It was my top name for a long time but I'd now only use it as a middle name. I still love it, but being one syllable I just can't use it as a first name. I pronounce it MAYV and the MEEV pn makes me cringe. I like
Maeve Winter
Maeve Rowan
Maeve Azure
Maeve Alba

I like it, but in a 'i appreciate it on somebody else's child but wouldn't personally use it myself' kinda way. I pronounce it Mae-v thoughI think Maeve needs something frilly with it so i'll go for Maeve Bethany
