[Opinions] Emmanuelle
WDYT of Emmanuelle? It's been on and off my list over the years, but I keep coming back to it. Even if you absolutely can't stand it, what nn would you use for it? I've always thought the nn Emmy would be so cute!

I love Emmanuel. It's one of my favorite names. I also quite like Emmanuelle though I wouldn't use it myself. I think it's pretty and sophisticated. It makes me think of France.
I love Emmy. It was one of my favorite names when I was little (I really liked the idea of having sisters called Ellen and Emmy). Emmy is actually more a name on its own than a nickname to me but I do think it's a very good nickname for Emmanuelle. I think I would use Emmanuelle nn Emmy too.

I'd probably use Elle.I rather like Emmanuel, but Emmanuelle has a much different vibe, and I don't care for it.

I went through a phase maybe two years ago where I really liked it, and ever since then I've still thought it was nice. It has a very mature, regal feeling, and it makes me think of swans. I wouldn't use the nn Emmy, it seems way too juvenile for it. Emma would be okay, or maybe Manny. Yes, that makes me think of Degrassi. Ha.

I think it has a stripper/easy girl/tramp image. Maybe that of an expensive French prostitute. I watched lots of French movies (my mom is French) and it always seemed to be the name of that kind of girl. Or at least that of the sexy neighbor who seduces someone. For that reason I wouldn't use it. I also think it's a bit much. You could get some great nicknames out of it, though. Elle, Ellie, Emme, Emmie etc.Same with Lola. I don't mind Emmanuelle and Lola but could never use them because of the image I have in my head.

My DS's mn id Emmanuel, which I obviously love. Emmanuelle on the other hand, it's just not the same. I much prefer the name on a boy than a girl. Emmy would be a cute nn for it though.
