I don't really like the "angeline" part of either name; it reminds me of Angelina and makes me think "frilly". But if you like Evangeline, it's more of an E vs. A thing. Honestly, Avangeline just makes me think "Oh look, someone changed the spelling of Evangeline". Maybe that's just because i'm not used to it... I don't know. Another option would be to use Evangeline nn Eva, but pronounce Eva the Spanish way. It sounds the same as Ava, and if I ever used Eva that's the way I'd pronounce it. I'm not sure if that pronunciation would work very well as a nn for Evangeline, but I think it would.EDIT: What about Aveline? It's got the nn Ava and the -line ending, but it's simpler and doesn't look like a misspelling... I also found Avaline in the database, and that has "Ava" right in it.
