I strongly prefer Eleanor.
I do pronounce them differently: Eleanor is EL-uh-nor and Elena is eh-LAY-nuh.
Ella is fine as a nickname for either.
My favorite Eleanor combos are Eleanor Daisy and Eleanor Violet. I would go with Elena Catherine or Elena Martine for that name.
