I like both names, but Gabriella feels a little frilly next to Philippa. I'd like Gabrielle with Philippa more. Gabrielle is less beribboned than Gabriella and a little more sleek and sophisticated.
Pip and Ella reminds me of Pip & Emma, sisters from Agatha Christie's A Murder is Announced. I played Pip in a theatrical version of the same, though, so I imagine most people won't make the same conneciton. Pip Emma is also an old-fashioned (~WWII) way of saying "P.M." /tangent
