I love Alexandra, primarily because it's my mother's mn. Without that meaningful connection, I would probably just think it's all right. I don't like any of the nicknames, and I'm always a little surprised by the number of Alexandras, Alexandrias, Alexises, Alexas, Alexanders, Alexes, Alecs, and so on and so on that I meet. I'm not bothered by the popularity of any one individual name, but as a group, it's overwhelming.

Between Allie and Alex, I prefer Alex. Not my favorite, though.
