[Opinions] Noreen
What do you think about the name Noreen? For a long time it seemed really...silly to me, but today for some reason it seems adorable. Do you prefer it as a full name or as a nickname for Nora or Eleanor? If you feel like it, suggest a combo or two! Thanks!

You know, now that you mention it it is pretty cute. I think it seems too nicknamey, so it would be adorable as a Nora or Eleanor or Honora, etc. nn.But I can't get over associating it with Hairspray and Seinfeld!

I find it likable. It's not a fave, but I do find it likable... Have never thought of it as a nn for anything. Noreen stands on its own... and feels a lot younger than Nora. Nora makes me think of my great aunt who would likely be in her 90s or older now if she were still living. (not sure if she was older or younger than Grandad). I know some people have started using Nora again (incl. a couple old college mates w/ their daughters), but it still feels like an old lady name to me. Noreen feels much younger. Some names it might flow into nicely:

I like Noreen. Though it doesn't wow me I'd be delighted to meet a young Noreen. I have considered it myself in combos as it was my great aunts name. Isla Noreen is my go to combo

It seems very dated to me. I don't dislike it, because I had a really awesome teacher by that name, but I'd never use it.
I only like it as a full name; I think it's a little odd as a nn. Although Nora "Noreen" is sort of cute...

I picked it for one of my characters because I wanted a really silly name. of course, now I think it's adorable. I definitely like it better on its own, which goes against my usual preference for diminutives/elaborations.Gosh I forget what her middle name wasNoreen Alexandra

Noreen Desmonda
Noreen Abigail
Noreen Estelle

I like the sound of it, but not the way it looks.
I don't like it with Nora, funny enough as I see that it's a diminutive of it. On the other hand, I think it's very fitting as a nickname for Eleanor.- Maybe it's kind of off, but I could also Ellie as a nickname for Eleanor.
