Victoria! I think it's more mature and elegant, and it has more of a regal fantasy vibe to it. Amelia is warmer, younger, and friendlier. So depending on which vibe you like better, either would be good. I prefer Victoria though.

AmeliaTust because I don't enjoy any of Victoria's nicknames. It's a regal name however. I see your dilemma.

Amelia seems much friendlier to me.

AmeliaAmelia but I'd suggest Amelie to you, because Amelia is way too popular thesedays. Victoria is too much "queen-associated" for me.

I've got the same problem with Amelia as with (some pronunciations of) Megan: that strongly emphasised MEEE just puts me right off. I might have difficulty choosing between Emily and Victoria (neither of which is overdone where I live), but here it's Victoria all the way.

AmeliaBoth are tried-and-true classics, but Amelia seems fresher. I love the name.

I like both, but I'd go with Victoria. Amelia is getting really popular.

AmeliaIt has better nickname options than Victoria does, imo.

Amelia, easily. I find Victoria cold, and I dislike all of its nicknames.

I agreeI agree. Even though Amelia's getting popular, it's a beautiful, classic name.

Victoria gmv! I think it's a classic. It's feminine, yet strong. I also like Amelia, but prefer Emilia. :)

They are both nice, but Amelia is getting way too popular. Plus, I love the strong association Victoria has with Queen Victoria. I saw a movie starring Emily Blunt and it was a great movie. All hail Queen Victoria!

Victoria... avoids Amelia Bidelia images...Victoria is WAY better. Didn't have a sudden spike in trendiness out of nowhere in the recent past... Classier... and doesn't make people from my generation automatically think of a total ditz who takes everything literally because of those silly Amelia Bidelia (sp?) books that were read to us as children. Has better nn options as well if you're into shortening long names.

Both are good, however, Victoria is my favourite. I find Amelia jus a bit meek, somehow.
