What do you guys think of the name Ramin (ruh-meen)? For a boy.

Looks too close to ramen, which is what a lot of westerners and orientals would think of when seeing that... that it looks like a mis-spelling of ramen.Even w/ the dif prn., I'm not a fan of een names on boys.

Aw, I like Ramin; it sounds soft, sweet, unassuming, yet somewhat dark. The only place I've seen it before is theatre actor Ramin Karimloo, but I'm kind of surprised it isn't listed in the database. I wouldn't have thought of pronouncing it like ramen. So not everyone associates the name with noodles, though I understand how that could happen :p

:)Hee, I was wondering about that -- it's not exactly a common name!

I first read it as RAH-myn. As in Ramen Noodles. Maybe you should spell it Rameen.

I did tooI said: RAH-min ... RAY-min ... then I read it's rah-MEEN.
I like the sound of rah-MEEN. Never heard of it before.
Spelling it Rameen would work. Anyway, I think people would catch on pretty fast even if you didn't, but if it would annoy you to have it mispronounced at first, I think you should probably anticipate that.

Too close to Ramen. I would pronounce it the same until corrected (which I was when I clicked on the post). :P
