[Opinions] Pallas
What do you all think of this? Paris and Dallas get some use, do you think that Pallas could as well? Or is it too out there?I think it has an interesting sound, and I like that it could be a reference to Gustav Klimt's painting, since he's my favorite artist. If it has any negative connotations I'm unaware of them, so please feel free to bring them up!Also, between Persis and Pallas, which do you prefer?

Oh, I much prefer Persis. Pallas is nice in theory. But everyone will assume its palace and the parents are nouveau riche / wannabes. Sad, but (at least) that's what would come to my mind and I adore Gustav Klimt.

The only one I like on here tagged on a human is Dallas... and Gustav is tolerable... The others are quite unapppealing... A lot of people don't know about Pallas and might think it was a cre8ive spelling for the place from which royultee rulz the kingdum.

I don't think it's too out there. If Paris and Dallas can get some use, why not Pallas? The only thing is that it sounds like the word "palace", but that doesn't make it unusable. I prefer Pallas to Persis. Persis reminds me of the word "purses."

Pallas looks fine, but it sounds like "palace". I don't like the princessy, spoiled-brat impression that I get from Pallas.Persis, similarly, looks fine but sounds like "purses". This one isn't so bad though, because if you pronounce it properly it's still a little different than "purses". I guess I prefer Persis. I would've guessed it was masculine though.

I think if I heard the name Pallas, I'd hear it as "palace" - Persis sounds like "purses" but intonation can fix that more easily, so I think I prefer it. And I can unfortunately picture a little girl named Palace, so that's a bit cringeworthy.
The actual name first reminds me of The Raven, as it was perched on a bust of Pallas. It's a decent literary reference, though I guess it depends what you think of Poe.

For a girl or a boy? I think it would be quite nice on a girl -- it's strong and different, but simple and not flashy. The Athena association is nice, and I think it's a nice alternative to that name if one wants to use a goddess name (I don't like Athena as a name all too much). I have trouble imagining it on a boy since it feels more feminine than masculine to me.I would prefer Pallas to Persis on any gender, however. I don't think Pallas sounds too much like phallus (pahl-uhs vs fal-iss) but I could see why one might be concerned with visual similarities. It's never crossed my mind before, however.

I don't like the sound or look of Pallas personally and it kind of rhymes with Phallus which isn't great, but it could probably workI prefer Persis, it looks more namely and has a better sound

I like Pallas. I think I like it better than Persis, because it reminds me of Athena and doesn't make me think of the word 'persist'.

Hmm, I kind of like it. I think what would prevent it from being used much is because it sounds just like palace. I prefer it to Persis.
