Royal & Spring
Forest, Blue, Scarlett, Gray, Magnolia, and Azalea
Royal and Spring grew up in the same community, went to the same schools, and both families were part of the same community garden and various other projects. That being said, they hardly knew each other. The main reason for this was the fact that Royal was 7 years older and always in a different grade. They didn't really meet until Spring's senior year, when Royal's youngest brother (Jasper Raven Valor Red) took her to Homecoming.
Jasper and Spring had a huge fight, and Spring ended up trying to walk home from a wooded area. When Royal found out that Jasper had left Spring to walk through the dark woods herself, he immediately got into his car and went out to find her. This turned out to be a very good thing, as Spring had gotten herself turned around, and ended up falling down a fairly steep ravine. Royal found her after an hours search, and managed to get her out of the ravine and then to a hospital.
However, that wasn't the beginning of their relationship. Spring continued through high school while Royal worked odd jobs in landscaping during the winter and as a forest-fire-fighter during the summer months. It was another 2 years before they met again, this time while they were both out camping. One thing led to another, and soon both were madly in love. Before the year was out, they were married. Soon after, they had their first child.
Things got a little rocky after that, as they married before they had a chance to iron out the differences in their lives... but they held fast and worked through them. After almost 14 years of marriage, and 6 children, they are still going strong. Royal is now a local firefighter, and Spring teaches at a Waldorf school, which the children also attend.
Royal and Spring didn't want to have a maiden or bachelor name... but a pre-marriage name and a married name. They decided to combined their surnames to symbolize the blending of their lives. They also wanted their children's name to tell a story. All of the boys have animal names, while all of the girls have floral names. Also, each child has a second middle name that tells when they were born. The twins are the ones without birthstones, and they use their Mystical Tibetan Birthstone as their second middle name.
Forest Fox because Royal was still working as a forest-fire-fighter at this time. He was considering whether he should quit because he had just found out that Spring was pregnant. He had just made up his mind that it was his final year, when a red fox ran in front of him. At that point, the name jumped into his head.
Blue Blossom because Spring was going through a very difficult time and thinking that her marriage might be over. However, she had also just found out that she was pregnant, and told Royal. Royal came home that night with a bouquet of Delphinium and asked Spring to give them another chance. This was their turning point, and their marriage has been strong ever since.
Scarlett Clover because Royal gave Spring a red clover plant for their garden the same day that she went into labor. Spring remembered the plant throughout the birth, and felt calmed somehow by it.
Gray Falcon because Royal saw a gray falcon flying overhead on his way home to take Spring to the hospital. His second middle name is Onyx because he was born at 11:55 pm on December 31st.
Magnolia Gemini because Spring had a dream about a daughter being born under a magnolia tree, and Gemini in honor of her being a twin. Her second middle name is Emerald because she was born at 12:12 am on January 1st.
Azalea Petal because Blue and Scarlett had gathered a handful of azalea petals from the yard to make their mom a potpourri sachet for the hospital. Both Royal and Spring thought that this was a perfect memory for their new daughters name.
