[Opinions] Faye?
What’s your insight on the name Faye? What words come to mind when you hear it? Is it too childish, too old? Would you use it? Anything you think I wanna know.

I wrote a story once about an irish girl named Fae Siobhan O'Bryrne (Siobhan is the gaelic spelling of Chevonne, they are pronounced the same). I personally like it spelled Fae rather than Fay or Faye.

I love Faye. One of my top ten names. It's fairy like (it's meaning), and adorable for a child.
It is Definitely not too old; it's also reminds me of Faye Dunaway Hollywood chic from the 1960's
The only Faye I know personally is a 3 year old.

My mom's name is Faye and she is in her 50s. I also know a girl about 4 yo named Lindsay Faye. I wouldn't use it but since it's my mom I'm endeared to it.Aria

I really like it, particularly spelled like this. I don't think it's too childish or too old, and it's just uncommon enough to be different but not out there enough to be weird; that's a nice balance. I'd use it if there weren't so many other names I just like more. I'm most likely to use it as a nickname for Felicity, but I think it works well as a first or middle name too.

I love it! I think it's so soft, delicate and fairy like. Great as a fn and mn.

I think it's a lovely name. It's feminine and a tad fantasy-esque without being flimsy and airy-fairy. There's a quaintness about it that I really like. I find it neither too childish nor too old. It's really close to one of my family members' names, so I don't see myself using it as a first name, but if my partner really loved it, I'd definitely consider it as a middle name or maybe even a first name.

It sounds way too masculine to be a girls name and way to feminine to be a masculine name. Not a big fan.

Meh, it just sounds boyish.

True, but Fay (this spelling) was consistently used as a male name for a long time. It didn't fall off the SSA list for boys until WWII. I don't find it at all masculine (especially the Faye spelling), but I do see how some people could.

STRANGE! I've never ever thought of it that way.
