I like Celeste pronounced suh-LEST, and I love it pronounced cheh-LEH-steh.

I like this one, nice meaning, classic feeling but not too old fashioned or girly.

One of my favorites... probably a name on the top of my name list for usage in real life. It's one of the very few names that has stayed within the top 1000 without entering the trendy catagory.

Wonderful! Celeste is beautiful, underappreciated, and very feminine without being frilly. It's hard to work with in combos, though, especially as a first name. I like it best paired with a multi-syllabic middle name where the emphasis is not on the first syllable... Celeste Kristina, Celeste Naomi, Celeste Ileana, Celeste Seraphina (too OTT, I know), Celeste Elizabeth, and so on.

I love Celeste! It's got a lovely sound and meaning, and is feminine without being frilly. It's also relatively unique and is decidedly untrendy.

Strikes me as a tad matronly, and two S sounds in one name is nms, but I think it's really nice. I heard that a friend of mine who moved away named a daughter Celeste, in about 2004.

It's not terrible, but it reminds me of 'molest.'

I like it. I think it's "princessy", but not overly frilly or stuck-up. I'd say it's usable, and I like the sound and meaning.

Celeste is heavenly, literally. It's great because it's feminine without being overly frilly. It's different without being weird.

My only problem is finding a mn to go with it. A fn that is two syllables with the stress on the second syllable is always difficult for me to find a mn.

I like Celeste but there's a series of childrens books called "Ernest and Celestine" which is adorable and makes me like Celestine better.
