[Opinions] Winona
I love moments where you see a name that you've always hated and suddenly it's as if your eyes are opened for the first time and you realize how lovely the name actually is.
Well, tonight I was looking at an old Sears & Roebuck archive of houses for sale and there was a beautiful little white house with pretty flower boxes and it was called the "Winona". I was awe struck! I've heard and seen the name Wynona/Wynonna plenty of times, but always hated it. I even knew of someone with the name and thought it sounded pretty on her, but I just couldn't make myself like it. But when I saw the spelling Winona I fell in love instantly! Images of an adorable little girl or beautiful woman suddenly came to mind, along with wonderful nickname options like Winnie, Winne, and Nona! I never thought I would see anything in the name Winona, but I am very glad I did! I'm excited to add it to my list of favorite names now! :)
I'm not sure about middle names. Any suggestions?
Has anyone else ever had a moment like that with a name? :)
**Edit: I just thought of the combo Winona Honor, wdyt?

I think it's a really beautiful name, but I would always associate it with Winona Ryder. Not sure if that's a bad thing or a good thing or neither. It's just a thing. :P

I have had that happen to me with a name! Mine's Camilla; I never liked it, and now I can't get enough of it.
I've warmed up to Winona over the past couple years. It really is a pretty, musical-sounding name. I always think of Winona Ryder when I see it, and I do think of her shoplifting scandal, but that was a long time ago and small potatoes compared to the hijinks of many other celebrities, so who cares? (I also think of Johnny Depp's "Winona Forever" tattoo with the "ona" crossed out. But, again, who cares?)
Winona Ivy
Winona Maren
Winona Lucille
Winona Skye
Winona Emily
Winona Alice
Winona Autumn
Winona Rachel
Winona Honor is cute, but there's something about it I'm not liking. I can't really put my finger on what, though.

I like Winona! Winona is the first spelling I ever saw. Wynona is okayish. I don't like Wynonna at all though :(
