I think It best suits a child (though I also like Mary) and it works well in adulthood too. Though people often call me Maria (even after i've corrected them several times and once even when it was part of their own name i.e Anne-Marie) which can be annoying but I do love my name

My favorite Maria combination is Maria Rocio, because that was my grandmother's name.

I prefer Mary of the three, but I also like Maria. I guess I like Mary because it's so versatile and has such a long history. I would pair it with something long and more unusual, like:

Mary is a really pretty name in my opinion.I think that Mary Catherine is a good combination.
