[Opinions] Harmony?
What are your thoughts on the name Harmony? I used to hate it, but I'm not really sure about it right now. Would you consider it usable? Any combo ideas?

Meh. It doesn't bother me that it's a word, but it feels kind of fluffy and flighty. Fits with Melanie or Valerie for me. For some reason Harmony would be a red-head in my mind.

I love Harmony. I tend to think of it as a classier option for anyone considering Harlow or Harper for a girl. (Confession: lately I've been starting to like, *gasp* Harper.)Harmony Aurelia is my stock combination. It makes me feel like shouting "Hallelujah!" which is always a good thing. :-)

How about Hallelujah instead of Harmony? (Hallelujah is a GP for me)

Nn Hallie? Sure. :-) I know a Hosana, nn Hosie, so I can see a Hallelujah too. :-)

I wouldn't recommend using it. Its a bit like the name Chasity where the name is counter intuitive. Chasity might be loose and Harmony ends up bickering constantly.
Its safer to use a name that means harmony or seems harmonious.

OTIs chasity a word? It might explain why I see Chasity on BA lists instead of Chastity. I just can't find "chasity" in any dictionary. You could solve a mystery for me with this. :-)

I don't know that I myself would ever use it, but I think it is definitely usable. It's one of those things that I don't like when I first hear it, but when I really think about the sound of it and the meaning, I find it quite nice.

I like it a lot more than Melody, but probably wouldn't use it, even in the middle. Too many others I like more. It's interesting, given Harper's rise in popularity, that it's on your radar. It could become one of those names people suggest for those who like Harper but think its becoming too popular.

I quite like it actually and my fave combo for it is Harmony Erina (ayreena). Aside from that, I think relatively normal "sensible" names would go with it to balance it out... and she prob'ly shouldn't be in the same family as Melody or Symphony.

Unless they are characters in an educational children's book about music....

Ooo, with their brother Rhythm.
And parents Treble and Bass.

There was actually a series of children's tapes back in the 80s with Psalty the Singing Songbook (wife: Psaltina) and he had triplets: Melody, Harmony and Rhythm... They had some books as well.

Oh yeah. I can't believe I forgot about that. We totally had those tapes. They got stolen on a roadtrip to Edmonton. We were devastated, but consoled ourselves by becoming convinced that the thieves would probably become Christians when they listened to the tapes! :) Dang, I thought I came up with that...

Now we'll prob'ly have songs from those tapes stuck in our heads on and off all day...
Hmmm... wonder if any of that managed to get onto youtube...

Not 1 of the better Psalty costumes in this one though.
When you haven't seen or heard them in years, they strike a person as a little corny... but it was for kids back in the 80s.

Love the concept, but it always reminds me of hormones, unfortunately.

Eek, hadn't thought of that. :/
