Two years after the birth of their darling Annika, Charlotte and Nicklas were pleased to welcome a darling prince into their little family. Prince William Matthew Carlo Jeremiah was a healthy baby, and was named for many important people. Following tradition of Nicklas' family, the Prince was given Nicklas' middle name, William, and Charlotte's father's middle name, Matthew. The name Carlo was given for Carlo Weshbun, the founder of the country of Weshbun. Jeremiah was the name of Charlotte's grandfather, who passed away when Charlotte was only seven years old. The kingdom is happy for the royal couple and celebrate with a two-day carnival. After all, they knew how important it was for males to be born into the royal family. Prince Robert was recently married to his long-time betrothed Princess Amalia of the kingdom of Huswing, a kingdom bordering Weshbun to the north. It was a match that was perfect for those living in Northern Weshbun, who had problems with the Husian people for decades. This match should bring peace to the two kingdoms for many, many years to come.
Not only has this move been greatly appreciated by the Weshian citizens, but also all the small changes Queen Charlotte and King Nicklas have been pushing through the kingdom. They were all little things, just the repairing of roads and churches, planting of community gardens as well. All little things, but enough so that there would be surplus to have come winter this year, and to have many of the poverty stricken working as well. For years, though, there has been talk of Weshbun opening it's own university. The kingdom always only had small schools for children, and those who excelled in their studies had to apply to the Queen to be determined if they were allowed to study in the University of Adalon, in the country just to the south of Weshbun.
For years, though, the citizens have been fighting the construction of a university in Weshbun. They feel it would take away too many good workers from the farms, gardens and orchids and would promote laziness among those workers that wanted to go to the university, but were not chosen. Though Charlotte was nervous about telling the public, she knew that it was something that Weshbun needed to be considered one of the leading countries of the world. The advisors, hesitant as they should ber, agree that Weshbun needs a university to compete at the level of other countries. The announcement of the plans for the university were not met with immediate resistance, but Charlotte and Nicklas knew that the resistance would come. They were ready for it.
