[Opinions] Thoughts on Oona?
I'm liking the name Oona a lot these days, more so than either Una or Oonagh. What are your thoughts on the name? Any combos that jump to mind? Thanks!

I like Oona the best too. Una is OK, but reminds me of Uma Thurman, who, quite frankly, looks creepy. Also, Oona just looks prettier written out than Una does.
Oonagh makes me think I need to add an "ach" sound at the end and I don't like that.

I love Oona! It's so round and simple. It's feminine but not frilly. It's lovely. My favorite combo for it has always been Oona Cecilia.

I like Oona Cecilia! Right now, I'm attached to Marie Cecilia, so Oona Cecilia may have to take a backseat to that... at least for a while. ;) Thanks!Your reasons for liking Oona are the same as mine. Simple, round and full, feminine, not boring, not frilly, standout. :)

I like it, I think it's fun and cheerful, but still with a serious side. My favorite combo with it is Oona Hermione.

I love it, and Oona is definitely my favorite spelling. It's a name I could see using on a daughter one day. I always have a hard time coming up with middle names to go with it, but I think I like Oona Tamsin, Oona Beatrix, and Oona Phoebe. Oona Rosamund is pretty as well.

I prefer Una. Oona looks strange to me. I'm not liking the double Os.

I do like Oona. I used to prefer Oona, but lately, I find Una more appealing. But my last name is Homayouni, which contains the sound "yoon" so I could not use it for a child.

I try to like Oona, but that Oo turns me off. I prefer the Una spelling; it just looks tidier and less goofy to me.

I had been drifting towards Celtic MNs for Oona, partly because it's an Irish name itself and partly because it avoids that "one" thing (which is also part of why I don't like the spelling Una). Things like Oona Ceridwen, Oona Myfanwy, and Oona Meraud had come to mind. I do like some of the Germanic ones, but they seem to take Oona to a harsher level. Some of the Greek ones you have make me smile, though... especially Oona Calanthe. That looks lovely. :) I also like Oona Bryony, Oona Mairead, and, oddly, Oona Hyacinth. I usually don't like Hyacinth at all.

It looks too much like 'Ooh, no!'I like Una, though!

I really, really don't like the double O at the beginning. I much prefer Una, and I think I might like Uma even better. Oonagh is awful, in my opinion.
I guess our tastes are just very different. :)
