Help[Opinions] Nicknames for Faolán?
According to this site Faolán is a nickname already, but I'd be using it as a given name and I can't think of a nickname other than Fay. I like Fay, but I'd just like to see what else might be out there. Also, I'm not really concerned with Fay or any other nickname being to feminine. If you have any suggestions I'd love to hear them! Thanks!

You could always pull the nickname from the sound of the second syllable, something like Lenny, Lonny, or Lon. Faolán is so compact, I really don't think it needs a nickname.
You didn't ask, but Faolán is awfully close to "failing" in my accent (also the #1 suggestion made by my spellchecker), and I have a hard time appreciating it.

Faolán is pronounced like phelan though, not failing. Faelan is pronounced more like 'failing'.
I don't see the need for a nickname either and Faye is a bit feminine for me.

Wouldn't it be pronounced FEL-awn? Which I just realized sounds close to felon. Hmm.

I love Fay. I don't think it really needs a nickname. But I can't think of anything else to be honest :(

Why does it need a nickname? I don't think it needs one. But you could call him Fáel I guess.
