[Opinions] Reginald
Revivable or not? I suddenly like the idea of a little Reg.
What would you call two sibs for him?

My great-grandad's name was Reginald "Reg".I think Reg is kind of old fashioned, but Reggie is quite cute. I think Reggie Yates makes it seem more acceptable for younger people, as he's only 28. I can imagine a young child called Reggie working quite well.My great-grandad's sisters were called Edith "Edie" and May. I think Edie and Reggie would be a super-cute sibset!

I think it's sleazy and generally without charm. :-/ Reg sounds just as unappealing to me, I'm sorry to say. In my mother's dorkier moments she still says "pull a Reggie" if she wants you to take a right turn while driving (as opposed to hang a Louie, which would be left).

I like NN Reggie but Reginald is a little TOO stuffy for my liking - I'm picturing an argyle vest, tube socks, penny loafers, reading glasses and a tobacco pipe.

Arthur
Frederick
Quincy
Jeremiah
Phillip
Clarence
Timothy
Malcolm
Leonard
Maurice

I have a friend named Reginald "Reggie", definitely usable in my opinion. His siblings are Wayland, Janet, Ashley, Sheldon, and Aileen.

Aw, cute. Reggie would be awesome! Yeah, I think it's revivable. It sounds a little sweater-vest-ish, so I'd go with something likeBennett
Chadwick
Geoffrey
Alistair
Neil
GilesClaudia
Camilla
Victoria
Regina
Celia
Adrienne

Chadwick! What a fantastic name.

Reginald is just the sort of P.G. Wodehouse / Oscar Wilde name that I eat for breakfast. I love, love, love it. I would use the nn Rex, but Reg is cute too.Reginald, Owen and Frances
Reginald, Owen and Cecily
Reginald, Owen and Phoebe
Reginald, Owen and Sibyl
Reginald, Owen and Beatrice
Reginald, Owen and Hermione
Reginald, Owen and Glynis
Reginald, Owen and Edith
Reginald, Owen and Daphne
Reginald, Owen and Alice
Reginald, Owen and MaudeI think Reginald Owen / Owens was an old British film actor so I'm cheating a bit here. Still, Reginald and Owen do sound great together. Happy hunting!

I'm sorry, I like the name too, but I don't think it is revivable (at least, not quite yet). It is my ex-best friend's middle name, and EVERYONE makes fun of him for it. Even his mom. Apparently, it was the name of his dad's favourite uncle, so she felt obligated to use it.That being said, I do know a Reynaud who really rocks his name. I would probably do Reginald, Edmond, and Dorothea. Adorable!

Ugh, I can't stand Reginald. Reginald is almost comically stuffy and, at the same time, so slick it's almost slimy. I don't have a very positive image of Reginald, obviously, so for sibs I'm afraid I'd pick names that give me a similar vibe: Araminta (stuffy and spoiled) and Peregrine (stuffy and weak willed/untrustworthy). Reginald, Araminta, and Peregrine...they could be wicked siblings right out of Masterpiece Theatre, all grasping for the family fortune and stabbing each other in the back between cocktails.

Oh please write that, I so want to watch it!

That is a deviously delicious sibset.

It's very cute and proper. I like the idea of it on a kid.Reginald goes with so much, as I'm finding out. Some ideas (* are my favorites):Forsythe (I wonder if this is too Archie comics? I didn't even realize it at first.)

Horatio*
Augustus
Albertus
Alphonse*

Elvira
Amalia
Drusilla

Clotilda*
Dionisia / Dionysia*
Rohese
Faustine
Hester
Ianthe*

Parthenope*My favorite pairings are:Reginald, Dionysia and Clotilda "Reg, Di and Tilly / Tilda"
Reginald, Quintina and Augustus "Reg, Tina and Gus"
Reginald, Horatio and Alphonse "Reg, Al and I don't know what for Horatio"Sorry, but I can't seem to pair Reginald without going for totally over the top names.

Perhaps Ray as a nn for Horatio? Reg, Al and Ray? Or is that not "cute and proper" enough?Bless you for including Hester to the ball. She so rarely gets out. And Parthenope is fantabulous.

I too was thinking Hester or Vesper would make a nice fit.

Ray works as a nickname. The only reason I didn't include it in the list was because it sounds too close to Reg to me. If it were Reggie and Ray, that'd be different.Hester and Parthenope always have a place on my list. =)

Reggie and Ray! I'm in heaven!!

Oh, I love Reginald! It's unapologetically stiff and stately, though it sustains a jaunty, youthful streak under the layers of sophistication. As for siblings, I first thought of Ambrose and Augusta.

Augusta would be excellent - my grandmother was Augustine. :)
Also, Ambrose and Augusta make a lovely pair.

I find it stuffy and awkward. I say no.

I personally LOOVE Reginald. I don't know what it is about it. It's so dark and slick and shining, like blue-black hair. I love how it clip-clops over the cobblestones of its own syllables. I love the tender-growly Reggie. I know it's considered pretty old fashioned and probably not revivable at all, but I would find a baby Reginald very chic. for siblings, I would definitely call his brother Arthur, and his sister Sylvia.Other ideas:Clifford
Leon
Randolph
Raymond
SylvesterMatilda
Dulcie
Belinda
Helen, Ellen
Maude, Maud

I don't know what it is about it. It's so dark and slick and shining, like blue-black hair.Such as in the manner of Reggie Mantle? I love Archie Comics, and he is the first person the name makes me think of. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reggie_Mantle
