Help[Opinions] Ewen?
I found a name I sorta like for our new baby boy due in May. I also like it because of the logic. Call me crazy but I have this thing with numbers. Nina & Iris? It's no coincidence I chose Iris to go with Nina because of the repeating 1st and 3rd letter. They also have 8 letter middle names, Victoria & Caroline.
So the name Ewen follows the same pattern but my only concern is the spelling. Is that a strange spelling? Is it commonly spelled this way as well as the other way (Ewan) in Europe?
I haven't thought of a middle name yet but I will keep you posted.

Ewen has a very handsome sound and the letter thing is very neat, I'd never thought about doing that before! I don't think the spelling is a big issue, I think of it was Ewan but either spelling is generally acceptable.
And the three names together sound very nice: Nina, Iris and Ewen. I would also suggest Iain except for I'm not sure Iris and Iain would be quite right for sibling.

The 'ewe' part just makes me think of sheep. (Also, the 'ewe' part is 75% of the name, so it's, um, a little bit hard to get away from.) I much prefer Ewan. I also know of a Welsh actor named Iwan, pronounced the same way; if you're okay with having two 'I' names in one sibset, I think it works really nicely.

Is it Iwan Rheon? He's the only Welsh actor with that name I can think of...

My main association w/ it is as a surname, though my baby bro. (not a baby any more, but a dozen yrs. younger than I) had a friend in elementary school named Ewen. Has that annoying trendy preppy feel to it, so I really dislike it... in the same category as Ethan, Aidan, Liam, Kaden and mis-spellings of Jadon (Jadon as is is cool, but Jaden, Jaiden and Jayden look too girly). The fact that it starts w/ Ew doesn't appeal much either.

I've never seen the spelling Ewen - makes me think of sheep because of the "ewe" part. I think Ewan is a much more common spelling and looks better too.
Yes it has the "logic" of having the same letter repeated, but I don't think you should limit your name choices to fit that pattern. I'd choose a name because I like it, not because it "matches" the others in a way which most people would never even notice!

I'm sorry, but I don't like the "ew" at the beginning, since ew is often an exclamation of disgust. I prefer Euan.
