Ky-ross sounds very grand (maybe too much). I'd probably end up slurring it into ky-russ. Which isn't bad, sounds a bit like Cyrus. Like the similarity to Cairo, but without being literal. Definitely a boy's name. Fn would be ballsy, but I think it would make a good mn.

That's what I think of. It's not a bad association, cos, you know, Apartheid was bad, but if I met someone called Kairos it's what I'd think of first. And then I'd wonder a little bit if there's a link to the KD, or something, because I;m just like that... In other words, it might cause people to think a little too deeply about your reasons for using it. I dunno.
I really like the meaning. Apparently it means something entirely different in Modern Greek, though?
I'm not sure how great it'd work as a name, but while it looks more masculine, something about it makes me like it as a girls' name. Maybe it's because it seems so ungirly? Eh.

How do you pronounce it? /KY rus/, /KY roce/? I like the sound of it pronounced the latter way. Cool meaning, too. Maybe Caerus, the name form would sound more like a name, but I still think Kairos is nifty, but then I have always liked the nn Kai.

I like it (m). I also like Cairo, but Kairos seems a bit cooler- it sounds older and isn't soo "look at me, I'm a place name!" I could see it on a person IRL, as a middle name, or on a character. I'm really liking it as a mn...

Probably because it's a Greek concept rather than an Egyptian place... It's the type of name churches and similar orgs. use for groups (like a young adults group or something) or maybe a conference or something... I wouldn't use it as a person's name though. Never heard of Kairos on a person.

It seems more like a last name, if a name at all. Or like somebody with no knowledge of Greek language or customs trying to come up with a Greek-sounding name for a character.
