[Opinions] Tess
Hi everyone,
I really like the name Tess but am not too sure about the name Theresa.
Do you think Tess is OK as a full name by itself, or does it needs Theresa?
Also, do you prefer Theresa or Teresa?
And one more: would Tess be acceptable as a nickname for Teodora or another T name that doesn't necessarily have an E or an S in it?
I'd really appreciate your thoughts :)
Thanks :)

I love the name Tess and imo it can definitely be a full name. I wouldn't use Theresa/Teresa if you don't like it, just because you think you should have a longer fn. Tess is gorgeous on it's own. I don't like Tess as a nn for any other names, sorry.

I think Tess is acceptable on its own, but I also like it as a nickname for Theresa.
I prefer Theresa over Teresa.
I think Tess could work as a nickname for Teodora, sure. As long as it starts with T and it's not completely different, it would be okay.

I think it is fine as a name on it's own.

I think Tess, or Tessa, would both be fine. If you want something longer, what about Contessa? I know a little girl who goes by both Contessa and Tess.

Tess is one of my favorite names and for me it works fine as a given name in its own right.

I really like Teresa, and definitely prefer this spelling. I think that Tess is fine on its own, but Teresa, Theresa, Teresia, Therese, and Tessa seem more complete to me.Teodora "Tess" seems like too much of a stretch. I'd stick with names that have an E and an S if you want to use Tess as a nickname.

I prefer Tess on it's own, but it's a hard name to find a combo for. I wouldn't use it for Teodora, just seems too unconnected.

Tess feels incomplete on its own. Should be short for Tessa or Theresa imo. I prefer the Theresa sp. to the Teresa sp. Somehow Teresa just feels like something's missing from it, though it's otherwise ok and I realize part of it's a language difference.
Tess from Teodora feels like a stretch.

I prefer the spelling 'Teresa', but would probably use Tessa as the fn instead and have Tess as a nn for that :)

I think Tess is a lovely name. I would personally use it as a nickname for Teresa (with this spelling), which is my Aunt's name.Tess on it's own is a bit insubstantial in my opinion. How about Tessa? It's a bit longer and more complete than just Tess, but not as formal as Teresa. You could use Tess as a nickname for Tessa.

I think Tess needs Tessa. I'm not fond of T(h)eresa, and I don't think Tess(a) works for Teodora. But I'd use Tessa any time.I know a Tertia who goes by Tessa.
