John and Mary were excited to welcome Viorica, Gallagher, Wylie, Kenny, Cadwallader, and Palmer. They have also hired a new au pair, Kolab Soun, from Cambodia. The kids love her, too.
Romilly is now nine and in the fourth grade, and Yancy is seven, in second grade. Both have straight As and their parents are very proud. Romilly is very popular, plays sports and is in the band (she plays the trumpet). Yancy is stuggling to make friends, and the teachers are talking about letting him skip third grade. Romilly thinks it would be cool (she's not even slightly embarrassed by the idea), but their parents really want him to make friends and don't know if skipping a grade will help.
Rosie, Kally, Hux, Xaverie and Quaid are now in kindergarten, and they're all doing well. Kaleva, Abby, Quinna, Hal, Fritz, Kerri, Milly and Quigley are doing great in preschool. Nobody in his class could pronounce Gottschalk, and kids started Gottsc, wich evolved into Gosh, and then Josh.
The babies are also good.
Mona and Merry are now in a long-distance relationship. Merry has gone out of the state for school, while Mona is taking classes closer to the Smiths.
The Smiths have 32 children now.
