[Opinions] Cool names from mythology
Looking for some names with good meanings and interesting background stories. A really good namesake for a child. To use as middle names. I just noticed that I throw middle names in that just sound good and I want something a bit more meaningful. So I thought of looking for names from mythology. I especially love Greek mythology. What are some really cool names with nice meanings and good stories behind them? Something a child would like to have as a namesake?Especially looking for a middle name for Aaron which is not that unusual so I'd like to pair it with something interesting. But looking for girls names as well.

Oh gosh there are just so many. Not *as* many with great, inspiring stories (face it, a lot of Greek myths are outrageously tragic) but lots of really cool ones, anyways.some of my favourites are:Atalanta the strong, proud runner
Cassandra (her story isn't inspiring, but beautifully tragic)
Pomona. Her story of being wooed by Vertumnus is actually quite sweet and rape-free.
Ariadne (tragic at first, but then true love wins the day)
Electra - a brutal story, but I just adore this name.
Psyche - her love story with Eros is one of my favourites
Pyrrha - wife of Deucalion and mother of all people after the great flood (like that of Noah)
Artemisia - not Mythological but historically badass http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Artemisia_I_of_CariaOrpheus - his quest for his beloved is a very touching story. also cool name meaning
Perseus has the quintessential hero story; slaying monsters and saving princesses
Hercules was kind of a jerk but I think a he's still a pretty cool adventurer
Dionysus is also one of my absolute favourites and his myths are really fascinating
Daedalus the inventor
Prometheus, who gave the fire of the Titans to mortals
Deucalion - survivor of the great flood and son of Prometheus
Zephyr - the West Wind
Phrixus - just has the coolest meaning and a good story to boot

Yay thanks :) Exactly what I was looking for. Perseus is really cool. Aaron Perseus. Phrixus is awesome. Pomona is so cool, it makes me think of a ripe fruit. I also like Cassandra, Atalanta (I also like Atlanta), Artemisia and Ariadne.

If you're looking for something a little inspiring for Greek mythology, look up Alcestis. (Just thought of that one).

Ohh she was a princess, cool! I found a wiki article and will read about it later. Unfortunately the sound doesn't appeal to me. But it should be a good story :)
