[Opinions] Isidora
in reply to a message by Calla
I feel stronglyIsidora makes sense
Is correct
Is brighter sounding and looking ("izzid" vs "izzudd")Isadora appears to refer to Isadora Duncan
is a "trendy" spelling *just* like Makayla is for Mikayla, neutralizing a vowel and blurring the sound
Is wrong. disregards itself. Gift of Isas?
has "I SAD" in it.

I pretty much agree. Unfortunately Isadora is kinda growing on me

Growing on you? I sad.Whatever ... people like what they get used to, I guess. Madlen is a GP of mine, and not as a foreign variant of Madeleine, but just as a contraction. If I didn't like it, though, I could probably give it just as much guff as I do Isadora. =\The other thing is, Isadora makes me think "wanted to use Isabella but it wasn't differynt enough"

The way you've phrased things here looks like you consider Makayla a trendy spelling, but Mikayla not so. Really, both are modern misspelled monstrosities.

Yes, I agree. But at least Mikayla is phonetically a lot truer to the original Michaela, and doesn't neutralize the "ih" sound into a schwa. Makayla = Muh-kayla (or as I like to say "Muckayla") not Mih-kayla
