[Opinions] Wellesley & Gable
I saw to girls today named Wellesley and Gable (not related). I don't mind Gable on a boy but I don't like either on a girl, WDYT?

Wellesley just sounds like a small child stumbling over "Wesley". Gable has a fine sound, plus the fun nickname Gabe. If it were on a boy. But it's still too "Anne of Green Gables"-y for me to find it usable at all. And certainly not on a girl.

And was she a green Gable? Sorry. I couldn't resist. Gable and Wellesley are terrible for either sex, to me. I'm not a big fan of Wesley on a boy, but it's heaps better than Wellesley on a girl (or boy for that matter). And yes, I'm aware of the girl's college and how that might make it meaningful on a dd. But it's still not my style.

I think Wellesley is probably impossible to detach from the famous women's college in Massachusetts. Not a first name IMO.Gable doesn't sound like a first name either. It makes me think of Clark Gable (very good actor, but still it was his surname) or Anne of Green Gables.
