Another five years have passed for the Thompson clan.
Wil and Bekah are still doing well. They are keeping busy. Wil is still working full-time, and on the weekends he has taken up woodworking. Bekah got a part-time job as a classroom aide, and she is still volunteering with the after-school program. She and Wil are also enjoying their roles as grandparents to their grandchildren.
Caitie and Ben's family is doing well. Last year, Caitie got pregnant unexpectedly, and they welcomed a little girl into the family. Tori was born right on time, and healthy. She is a year old now, and crawling up a storm. It won't be long before she starts walking. The triplets are eight now. Jason is still about a year behind in his physical and cognitive development; however, he is a social butterfly. Austin and Carrie have evened out in their development, adn are right on track with their peers. The three of them are very close.
Joey has had a tough time over the past few years. Melanie died in a car accident four years ago. She was still suffering from undiagnosed depression, and Joey often wonders if the accident was really a suicide--it was a one car accident with no apparent trigger. Joey set out to raise Sophia on his own. He had his ups and downs. When Sophia started going to preschool at the age of 2 1/2, he met several other "preschool moms" from her class. One of them, Diana, was also a single mother. Her first husband had been killed in a military training accident. She and Joey started dating, and they were married last year. Integrating their two families has been a bit of a challenge, but they are managing.
Haley has spent several years working in the field of archaeology. She loves her job, and has traveled all over the world. While at a Venezuelan dig, she met Gabriel Antony Ferreira, a Venezuelan archaeologist whose parents were also "in the business". The two of them hit it off immediately, and within three years, they were married. The two of them now travel around together, going to digs, giving lectures, and doing whatever else comes to mind.
Lyddie and Tommy have had three children in the last five years, and it has put a bit of a strain on their relationship. They have four daughters now, Mira June, Ava, Celia, and Tahlia. The girls are happy, friendly children, and they have a wide range of interests.
Shane and his girlfriend Emma were married three years ago. They have a little boy named Sammy, who is 2. They live in Texas, where Shane is teaching music, and Emma works part-time in a department store to help make ends meet.
Aiden has spent the last five years in the Navy. He has liked it more than he thought, and recently renewed his enlistment. He has also been married for about four months now. Seems that ladies can't resist a man in uniform--they started chasing Aiden while he was still in training. Terra isn't a military girl, but she is a full-time paramedic.
