I think it's OK, seeing as it's the only way people would ever pronounce Aisling (one of my favourite girls' names) right - everyone I've mentioned it to says either AZE-ling or EYES-ling, which really puts me off using it.

Ashlyn as a form of Aislinn is wonderfulI think the Irish name Aislinn or Aisling is a wonderful name with such a poetic meaning (dream, vision). I prefer this spelling but Ashlyn as a more phonetic spelling is fine too.If I see it as just a variation of Ashley it is not as great. Funny, isn't it?"But it’s all right now.
I learned my lesson well.

I agree ...When I think of Ashlyn as a variant of Aislinn, I don't mind it. But as a varient of Ashley, I find it rather tasteless.

I'm sorry, it is nms. It looks like a vain attempt to substitute Ashley with something even more "unique". It looks unimaginative, strained, trendy.ETA: I like Aisling or Aislin, because of the meaning.

It isn't very popular where I live but I don't really like it. I prefer it to Ashley, though.

I prefer Aisling really, its a bit trendy but i like the sound. It makes a more feminine sound than Ashley / Ashleigh
